Fred Thiagarajah, former SABA-SC Co-President, and
Jehan Jayakumar, former SABA-SC OC Co-Chair, were named in the
Super Lawyer Rising Star Awards last month.
Risings Stars are lawyers who are 40 years old or under who have been practicing for 10 years or less and are nominated by lawyers who have seen them in action. No more than 2.5% of the lawyers in California are named to the Rising Stars list.
Kalpana Srinivasan, former SABA-SC Secretary,
Sarina Saluja, current SABA-SC President-Elect, and
Puneet Kakkar, current SABA-SC Co-President, were named on the
Lawyers of Color's Inaugural Hot List. The honorees were chosen after reviewing nominations and researching bar publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates.
Lawyers of Color also made editorial picks based on their research of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments or were active in legal pipeline initiatives.
Lawyers of Color, which was founded as On Being A Black Lawyer, has been recognized by the American Bar Association, National Black Law Students Association, and National Association of Black Journalists.
Teddy Kapur, former SABA-SC President, was among fifty attorneys "whose early accomplishments indicate they will be tomorrow's top lawyers and leaders" recently named in
The Recorder as
"2013 Lawyers on the Fast Track."
