Message From SABA-SC’s Co-Presidents

Dear SABA-SC Members and Friends,

We are thrilled to greet you for the first time as SABA-SC’s Incoming Co-Presidents. We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of so many inspiring and tireless leaders who have come before us and who have each left the organization better than they found it. It is our goal to sustain the high standards set by these past leaders and to continue to build on their successes.

SABA-SC’s organizational mission is to empower our legal community and to advocate for social justice. We are proud of this mission, and, as Co-Presidents, recognize that we cannot achieve these goals without the support of our SABA-SC friends, our Board, and the SABA-SC Steering Committee. We have a strong and diverse Board this year, with 11 returning Board members and 5 new Board members. We’re all looking forward to a productive year, and hope that we’ll see you at our events.

We hope that you can join us on March 29 to celebrate SABA-SC’s 15th Annual Public Interest Dinner and Installation. The event is a great way to meet people in our legal community and to hear about the important work being done by them. We are especially excited to be recognizing the following three distinguished individuals for their achievements and commitment to public service: the Honorable Upinder Kalra (Los Angeles Superior Court Judge), Paul Grewal (Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Litigation, for Facebook, Inc.), and Munmeeth Kaur Soni (Co-Legal Director at Immigrant Defenders Law Center). You can register for the dinner here.

If you have not done so already, please join SABA-SC or renew your membership. Your membership helps support our work, and comes with benefits, including a discounted rate at SABA-SC’s Annual Dinner, complimentary NAPABA membership, and access to member-only communications and events. You can start or renew your membership here.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead, and hope to see you on March 29 when we are officially sworn in!
