| Job Description |
LawScribe is one of the world\'s leading Legal Process Outsourcing
companies. With offices in Los Angeles, New York, and Gurgaon, India,
LawScribe provides high-quality, cost- effective, legal support services
to law firms and corporations. LawScribe serves clients around the globe
including Am Law 100 law firms, Fortune 500 companies and national legal
organizations.
LawScribe is currently seeking a Director of Operations to manage its
legal and intellectual property division.
Qualifications: The requirements for this position are:
IP
- Licensed attorney with a technical (Engineering) degree /or/ registered
patent agent
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 1+ yrs experience U.S. patent prosecution (focus on drafting provisional
and non-provisional applications)
- Strong familiarity with the MPEP
- Familiarity with WIPO patent system
- Familiarity with Patent Litigation laws, procedures and stages
- 1+ yrs substantive project management experience, preferably in the
legal field
- 2+ yrs patent search/research experience using web-based platforms such
as Innovation, Delphion, PatBase, or QPAT
- 1+ yrs non-patent literature search/research experience
- 1+ yrs experience trademark search/research (1+ yrs prosecution
experience preferable not required)
- Must be experienced dealing with highly sophisticated and demanding
customers on a regular basis, preferably beyond a usual attorney/client
relationship and more traditional service provider experience
- Must be highly proficient with common computer environments
(Office-style productivity software, FTP use, web-based tools)
- Must be highly organized and able to meet deadlines and expectations
without guidance or substantive oversight
- Must be able to quickly adapt and learn new concepts, technologies and
methods outside of particular technical background
Non-IP, miscellaneous
- 1+ yrs post-law school experience legal research on Lexis and Westlaw
- 1+ yrs experience on the technical side of eDiscovery
- 2+ yrs experience on the review (legal) side of eDiscovery (1+ yrs in a
mngmt/leadership role)
- 1+ yrs experience with coding/data-entry project management that
involved common database environments like CT Summation and Concordance
- Some experience with general litigation involving depositions and
motion/pleading preparation
- Familiarity with the outsourcing industry and ethics/business codes
(underlying UPL issues, etc)
