Supreeta Sampath

Ms. Sampath is Principal of The Sampath Law Firm (SLF), a labor and employment law firm.  She has extensive experience representing individual workers in employment discrimination cases on account of race, national origin, religion, gender, disability, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, whistle blower and wage and hour and claims.   Prior to SLF, Ms. Sampath was a senior associate at Schonbrun DeSimone LLP, where in 2010 she briefed and argued the federal court case of Wason v. AIG.  In a published decision, The Wason Court held that a supervisor’s disability discrimination against an employee constitutes extreme and outrageous conduct under California law and is sufficient to maintain an infliction of emotional distress claim against an individual supervisor.  In recognition of her professional achievements, in 2011, Ms. Sampath was selected by Los Angeles Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in the field of Labor and Employment.

Ms. Sampath is a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) where she serves as Co-Chair of CELA’s Diversity Committee.   As Co-Chair, Ms. Sampath leads the Committee’s efforts to ensure that law students from diverse backgrounds have the opportunity to gain exposure to plaintiff-side employment litigation through summer clerkships at CELA firms.  Ms. Sampath is also a member the Los Angeles County Bar Association and serves on its Labor and Employment Law Section’s Membership Committee.  During  2009-2010, Ms. Sampath served on the Board of SABA-SC’s Public Interest Foundation.

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley (1996), Ms. Sampath earned her B.A. in Rhetoric with an emphasis on Legal Philosophy.  In 2000, she received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts.  While in law school, Ms. Sampath served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Thelton E. Henderson, Chief Judge Emeritus, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
