SABA is dedicated to the advancement and development of South Asian attorneys as well as attorneys interested in issues affecting the South Asian community. SABA strives to promote the professional development of South Asian lawyers and law students, educate the South Asian community about relevant legal issues, expand and enhance business and professional opportunities for South Asians, increase the participation of South Asians in civic affairs and government, facilitate the exchange of ideas and information to South Asians, and foster goodwill, fellowship, and unity among the South Asian community.

SABA-SC was founded on September 30, 1995 by a small group of dynamic and dedicated South Asian attorneys, including Navneet S. Chugh (SABA-SC Lifetime Member), Anju Multani, Sreedhar Reddy, Yetur Madhu Kalra, Paul Saghera, Ajay A. Patel and Mona Patel-Sikora. Since our inception, SABA-SC has formed partnerships with local social service agencies and other SABA chapters nationwide. We have created a non-profit Foundation staffed exclusively by volunteers, raised almost $40,000 over the past 3 years, and awarded grants to numerous agencies and law students who provided services to our local community. We have created an outstanding Mentor/Mentee program to support law students, and a Judicial Evaluation committee to support practitioners seeking assistance with the judicial appointment process. SABA-SC is a member organization of the Multicultural Bar Alliance, the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles, and the North American South Asian Bar Association (NASABA), and hosted the first ever NASABA National Conference in 2004. We continue to support SABA-SC members and friends by providing quality professional and social events, and opportunities to volunteer and give back to the community. Congratulations to our founding members!
