The South Asian Bar Association of Southern California congratulates President-elect Joseph Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on their historic win. VP Harris has shattered three barriers at once, becoming the first female, first Black, and first South Asian vice president in our country’s history. SABA-SC is inspired to see a member of the South Asian community elected to serve in the second-highest office in the land. This is only the beginning. As VP Harris said on November 7:
While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last—because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.
SABA-SC is grateful for VP Harris’s trailblazing leadership and looks forward to seeing VP Harris bring representation of the Black and South Asian communities to the White House.
