SAADA’s 11 Year Anniversary
11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Residence of Dr. Amarjit Singh Marwah, Malibu CA

South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA) collects and shares stories from the South Asian American community. Help SAADA celebrate its 11th anniversary with a fun lunch event in Malibu. The event will help raise funds to support SAADA and commemorate the digitization of the Dalip Singh Saund collection. The luncheon will be hosted by Dr. Amarjit Singh Marwah at his home in Malibu on Saturday, July 20. Dr. Marwah, now 93 years old, first came to the US in 1950 as a Fulbright scholar and has been a pillar in the South Asian community in Los Angeles for the last fifty plus years. Notably, he worked on the campaign for Dalip Singh Saund, the first South Asian elected to U.S. Congress in 1956. SAADA works to create a more just future by documenting, preserving, and sharing stories from the South Asian American community, so that the struggles of past and current generations for equality, inclusion, and representation are not the same struggles we leave to our children. SAADA is honored that Dr. Marwah has opened up his home for this event. Tickets are $100, but the code “BRINGAFRIEND” gets you a free ticket when you purchase your own. Learn more / buy tickets
