Even More Congratulations Are in Order…
SABA-SC also has the pleasure of congratulating Judge Vibhav Mittal (as if his judicial appointment were not enough!) and past-president Puneet V. Kakkar for their selection as 2021 Honorees for NAPABA’s Best Under 40 Award. The award honors members in the Asian American Pacific Islander legal community under the age of 40 who have achieved prominence in their fields and have demonstrated a strong commitment to the Asian American Pacific Islander community.
Both Judge Mittal and Mr. Kakkar have both been essential to building SABA-SC as an institution. Mr. Kakkar is an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, where he is Resident Legal Advisor to the Gulf at the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait. He is on detail from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Central District of California, where he is Deputy Chief of the International Narcotics, Money Laundering, and Racketeering Section. Before his time as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Kakkar clerked for Judge Valerie Baker Fairbank and worked at O’Melveny & Meyers and Caldwell, Leslie & Proctor. He is a past president of SABA-SC and SABA-PIF.
