This month, we are proud to feature our two outgoing Co-Presidents of SABA-SC, whose terms end this month.

 

Janani RanaJanani Rana is a Certified Family Law Specialist at Minyard Morris, a family law firm in Newport Beach. She limits her practice to Orange County matters. Janani earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Political Theory with a Minor in South Asian Studies from the University of California, San Diego. She is a graduate of the Houston Family Law Trial Institute held at the South Texas College of Law and the Trial Skills Institute of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. She serves on the Board of the Orange County Chapter of the Epilepsy Foundation and the Associate Board of Project Youth OCBF. She is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists, the Orange County Bar Association (Family Law Section and Diversity Committee), the Orange County Family Law Banyard Inn of Court, Orange County Women Lawyers Association, Orange County Asian American Bar Association, and National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. In her free time, Janani advocates for epilepsy, and in particular, infantile spasms, research and funding, and enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter, cooking, and reading.

Shilpa CoorgShilpa Coorg is a co-President of SABA-SC. She has significant experience litigating high-stakes patent cases encompassing a wide range of complex technologies, including medical devices, pharmaceutical products, smartphone applications, and computer hardware and software. She has also advised clients regarding toxic tort litigation, contract litigation, and disputes brought under the Lanham Act. Shilpa is well-versed in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit analysis through trial. She has taken a leading role in bet-the-company cases. Her practice involves disputes in federal district courts as well as venues for alternate dispute resolution. Shilpa earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Los Angeles and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Washington. In her spare time, Shilpa enjoys traveling, baking desserts, doing yoga, and spending time with her two cats, Donut and Kitkat.
