SABA-SC mourns the tragic and disheartening losses of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and so many other Black lives throughout the country.  We unequivocally condemn these senseless killings and the bigotry that underlies them.  SABA-SC is outraged at the continued lack of a meaningful response from those in power to the gross injustices that the Black community is forced to endure daily.  We call for our lawmakers to take swift and long overdue action to combat the vicious cycle of systemic racism, violence, and oppression that has plagued the Black community for far too long.

We stand in unity with our Black colleagues, friends, family members, and the Black community at large.  SABA-SC grieves with you.  We know that our members and community members at large have also been deeply affected by these recent events.  In these times, more than ever, it is critical that we support each other and stay connected.  SABA-SC believes in racial equality, fairness, justice, and accountability, and as members of the bar, we have the unique responsibility to uphold these values.  We will continue to use our organization as a platform for the advancement and development of minority attorneys, and as a forum for those voices that have been marginalized in our society, in the hopes of a better tomorrow.
